Has Anybody Lost a Glove?

On the way out of the neighborhood subway stop, Jabari finds a blue glove on the stairs. Whose glove could it possibly be? Thousands of people pass through the subway station every day. Still, Jabari hopes to return the glove to the person who lost it. Jabari's mother explains that finding the glove's owner won't be easy. Nevertheless, the boy is determined. "Has anyone lost a glove?" he asks of construction workers, street musicians, a crossing guard, and others. Each person offers Jabaria reason why the glove couldn't be his or hers. "How the young detective pieces together the puzzle makes for a delightfully winning story. G. Francis Johnson's charming tale of dogged determination shows a young boy facing a challenge with logic and imagination.
